Pony Memorial Day Madness

This years memorial day madness was stacked with teams in the 14U age bracket. 58 teams from Pa, Md,Del, WV, NJ and Virginia battled for 3 days. We dropped our opening game Saturday to the Hampton Road Vipers (Virginia) 9-1. Our 2nd game has us battling the Riveria Beach Revolution ( Md), where we picked up the win 3-1. The 3rd game of the day was played at 6pm and the cats battled for the win 6-3 over the Heartbreakers red from maryland.
Sunday started just as hot as Saturday, with the temps in the 90's. because of injuries, the team was down to 9 players who battled all 3 games, in the heat with no breaks. The cats lost the 1st game to the Maryland chill Chill purple 5-2. The second game had us plaaying another Maryland Chill team, where the girls won a hard fought battle 6-5. We ended Sunday again at 6pm playing the Lady Fireballs from West Chester PA. where we ended up losing in the 7th, 11-7.
Championship Monday had us sitting at seed 28, earning us a bye in the first round of the bronze bracket. Our 1st game had us battling the NJ Nightmare, where the cats earned the win. Now on deck was the Churchville lightning, who ended up beating us and eventually earning the Bronze bracket Championship.
Overall we were 4-4 for the Tournament against some great competition.
Congrats to Kayla Snyder for playing her way on to the All tournament team!

USSSA Summer Splash Tournament May 22-23 Easton Pa

Coach Sullivans 14U Team won 1st place at the rain shortened tournament. The cats were 2-0 Saturday with the 3rd game getting rained out. Maggie Hahn earned the win in game 1 and Meghan Kisela gets the win in game 2. The 2 wins were enough to give us the number 1 seed going into championship Sunday, however mother nature would not allow any ball playing on Sunday. With most of the team still on their way, the tournament was cancelled, thus giving us the win and the berth to USSSA Nationals!

Winter/Spring Training

Our 14U team will soon be finishing up with our indoor training. The girls have worked hard all year on their defensive skills as well as their weekly hitting and as always, our trainer sarge whipped them into shape. Visit Sarges web site www.sgt4etraining.com for a list of his training programs. We highly recommend him and his training.. Tell him the Cats sent ya!
While many were still home sleeping on Sundays, our athletes were wide awake working on speed and agility drills, refining their hitting techniques and going through Coach Sullivan's Defensive training. And, as always, our athletes having been getting it done in the classroom as well.
